— Rayda Edding · Mother of Six, Grandmother of Seven · Writing the lessons I lived
For thirty-six years, Rayda Edding wrote her books the way she raised her children: patiently, and without rushing to be heard. She carried the stories in her mind across continents, kitchens, airports and prayer rugs — six children in tow — and refused to write a single word of parenting down until she had seen the fruit of it.
Somewhere between the packing lists and the bedtime stories, she noticed that the lessons her children remembered were never the ones she delivered as lectures. They were the small, warm, repeated moments: a bowl of soup shared on a hard day, a goodie bag tied with a ribbon, a red truck handed over on Eid morning. So she waited. She watched her children grow, leave home, and build families of their own — and only when she held her seven grandchildren, from one month to eight years old, did she know the lessons had held. They were her proof. They are also her inspiration.
The Legacy Parenting Series — Children's Book Edition is Rayda finally writing those moments down. Every story is drawn from real life — lived, tested, and passed hand to hand through her own family before it ever reached a page. Each is rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, and told with the gentleness of a mother tucking her child in for the night, so that other families can borrow these moments, live them, and pass them on.
She writes from wherever her family happens to be that year — lately the ocean, the desert, and the quiet corner of a library nobody else has discovered.
